Survey Day on Novera — Our Exciting New (to us) Yacht

It was a hot and golden October day — the kind that makes you grateful to be anywhere near the water. The sun was sparkling on the surface, the air was warm, and there was just enough breeze to remind us why we love sailing so much.

We had the survey conducted on Novera, our beautiful yacht, and it couldn’t have gone better. The day started with the lift in and out of the water — always a nerve-wracking but exciting moment. I have to admit, I was quite relieved when Thomas, the owner, expertly sailed her out of the cradle himself!

We also had the pleasure of meeting Thomas in person, and what a great guy he turned out to be — friendly, helpful, and full of fun. His enthusiasm and care for Novera really came through, and he made the whole experience easy and enjoyable.

Hayley didn’t want to stop sailing — she was completely in her element, soaking up the sunshine and the calm rhythm of the water. It was one of those days that remind you exactly why you do this.

And the best part? Novera passed her survey with flying colours! Just a couple of minor watch-outs, but overall, the surveyor’s comments were very favourable. It’s always reassuring when a yacht lives up to your hopes — and Novera certainly did.

By the end of the day, we left tired, happy, and more excited than ever for what’s ahead. With Novera officially given the thumbs-up, the adventure truly begins.
